Ways to Work Santa Clara County Expansion Event Re-Cap
On November 14, 2012, we celebrated the expansion of our Ways to Work Vehicle Loan Program into Santa Clara County. We were honored to have Carolyn Johnson, anchor of ABC7 News and Peninsula Family Service board member, as emcee for this morning event. Other speakers included Jeff Faulkner, President, Ways to Work, Inc.; Glen H. Brooks, Jr., Interim Executive Director for Peninsula Family Service; Celeste Fiore, VTA; Jim Dale, United Way of Silicon Valley; and a commendation from Supervisor Dave Cortese’s office. In addition, two Ways to Work Vehicle Loan Program clients spoke about the extraordinary difference having their own vehicle has made in their life and the lives of their children.
Nationally recognized, the Ways to Work Vehicle Loan Program offers hard-working families the opportunity to access low-cost loans to assist in the purchase of pre-owned cars needed to more easily meet job demands while raising children. The program is available to families who live or work in either San Mateo or Santa Clara County and are in need of a reliable vehicle but do not have a credit rating that enables them to get a traditional loan or who could only get one at a very high interest rate.
