You’re Not Alone
If you are an older adult, Peninsula Family Service offers Peer to Peer Counseling that can provide you with one-on-one, confidential support and guidance by a trained volunteer of similar age, experience, values, wisdom, and culture.
We can help you with transitions and life changes, health concerns, mobility issues, care provider questions, and grief. Peer-to-Peer Counseling provides someone to talk to who can guide you to resources and help you enjoy the highest possible quality of living.

Expanding Our Reach
Peer Counseling is provided in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Tagalog. We also have counseling available to the Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender (LGBT) community.
Peer Counseling for LGBT Seniors
Peninsula Family Service provides free weekly one-on-one counseling sessions to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Older Adults (55+) in their homes. Sessions are conducted by trained LGBT and LGBT-sensitive volunteer counselors. Peer counselors address emotional problems such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, family issues, and possible abuse. All of our volunteers have been through a thorough 50 hour training program at Peninsula Family Service.
Join Peninsula Family Service’s monthly LGBT social group, “Out and About”! You will find:
- A senior oriented social space
- Connections with other LGBT seniors
- Outside social activities and events
- Friendly, personal, and supportive conversation
