2015 Holidays on a High Note

A little morning drizzle couldn’t dampen the spirits of the more than 200 guests who attended our Foothill Auxiliary’s 18th annual Holiday on a High Note last Monday. Each year, this sell-out event at the Menlo Circus Club features fantastic shopping, stunning table-settings by local designers, a delicious luncheon, and a live tutorial by one of the country’s leading floral artists. During her demonstration titled, “Floral Expressions,” award-wining international floral designer Lana Chernyavsky shared her tips and techniques for crafting dramatic bouquets and centerpieces at home.

“The holidays are about turning the everyday into the exquisite,” says Kris Forbes, Foothill Auxiliary member and event chair. “Whether it’s discovering how to combine flowers and fruit on your Thanksgiving table or gaining insight into the way Lana uses a variety of materials in unique and unconventional arrangements, this event is all about bringing the magic of the season into your home.”

By attending the event, guests had the opportunity to share that magic with local families in need. All proceeds from ticket sales, the silent & live auctions, 20 percent of the boutique vendors sales, and the fund-a-need benefited Peninsula Family Service. This year, the Auxiliary is supporting efforts to expand our Family Engagement Program, which helps parents become strong advocates for their children’s health and education.
