DEDICATED SUPPORT from our AUXILIARIES
In FY 2020-21 our Auxiliaries demonstrated their dedication in many ways including remote fundraising events and service projects to support Peninsula Family Service (PFS) participants. The Foothill Auxiliary hosted the first virtual fundraising event of the fall of 2020, dazzling guests with floral arrangement demonstrations at their annual Holidays on a High Note. The Hillsborough Auxiliary (HAPFS) followed with their virtual Thanks for Giving, where they honored PFS Honorary Life Board Member, Jill Flynn, as “Sustainer of the Year ” for her dedicated service to HAPFS and PFS.
Both Auxiliaries continued to support PFS over the year. The Foothill Auxiliary took care of older adults with a customized holiday gift bag and a $1,000 check! Early Learners were appreciated with raincoats, and parents at Midway were also gifted with a $1,000 check.
HAPFS continued to organize service projects benefiting Financial Empowerment and other PFS participants including hygiene kits, food boxes, notecards, and outreach to PFS Valley Friends. In the spring of 2021, HAPFS produced an incredible virtual event An Enchanted Garden Gala: Helping Lives Bloom, raising an unprecedented amount to support PFS with the Fund-a-Need.
The Red-Car-Bel Auxiliary, aka The Family Tree, was thrilled by their safe reopening of the store in early March 2021. The store, located at 1589 Laurel Street in San Carlos, was reorganized, sanitized, and welcomed in-person shopping, showcasing their top-notch clothing and accessories. The Family Tree also offers a carefully curated selection of treasures via eBay. To shop The Family Tree eBay online, or to schedule a donation drop off, visit peninsulafamilyservice.org/familytree.
