PFS auxiliaries have offered additional support and caring gifts of encouragement throughout the year.
The Foothill Auxiliary (FA) hosted the first virtual event of the year, dazzling guests with floral arrangement demonstrations at their annual Holidays on a High Note in fall 2020. The members quickly moved into making the holidays bright for 33 older adults who utilize the virtual resources at Fair Oaks Adult Activity Center. Seniors provided a wish list and were delighted to receive large holiday bags, which were shopped especially for them. A “Guardian Angel” also gifted each participant with a $1,000 check! The new year continues with Valentines for children at two early learning sites with a raincoat for each child. We thank the FA for continuing their wonderful activities! The Hillsborough Auxiliary (HAPFS) held their virtual event Thanks for Giving Reimagined in November and celebrated Sustainer of the Year and Honorary Life Board Member Jill Flynn. Attendees were inspired by Jill’s reflection on her years of volunteering with PFS. HAPFS continues to organize service projects benefitting PFS participants including: hygiene kits, food boxes, Valentines, and connecting with PFS Valley Friends. The Auxiliary is looking forward to their April 24 annual event An Enchanted Garden Gala: Helping Lives Bloom and has exciting activities planned for this virtual event. The Red-Car-Bel Auxiliary, aka The Family Tree, is thrilled by their safe re-opening of the store in early March. The store, located at 1589 Laurel Street in San Carlos, is sanitized and ready for in-person shopping three days a week, showcasing their top-notch clothing and accessories.
