In this moment when so many of us feel called to learn more about and confront anti-Black racism and the broader inequities that racism fosters, this session will deepen our understanding of the historical context that has shaped racialized othering in the United States, and how it manifests at the internal, interpersonal, institutional, and cultural levels. We will also identify strategies and make personal commitments to take action to eradicate inequities in all of these dimensions.
By the end of this session, participants will:
- Understand the US historical context for anti-Black racism
- Understand how anti-Black racism manifests at the personal, interpersonal, institutional and cultural levels
- Engage in self-reflection about their role in contributing to and being impacted by anti-Black racism
- Identify strategies to confront anti-Black racism at multiple levels
This event is Co-Sponsored by County of San Mateo
