Last year, more than 800 individuals, foundations, and corporations invested more than $2 million in our shared mission of creating a strong community. The passions and backgrounds of our donors are as unique as the ways in which they lend their support.

Donation Options

Throughout the year, Peninsula Family Service relies on flexible sources of support to help fund our areas of greatest need. By designating your donation as unrestricted funding–also know as general operating support–you provide us with the opportunity to channel your donation where it is needed most, whether it be expanding an existing service, investing in new technology to better serve our participants, or supporting the ongoing costs of offering our outstanding programs. In doing so, you enable us to evolve, adapt, and meet the changing needs of our community in real time.

Catalyst STEMWith her Catalyst Fund gift, Judy C. Swanson, longstanding friend, board member, and philanthropic champion, created the Swanson STEM Initiative, a measure to ensure children in our Early Learning Program receive the building blocks of science, technology, engineering, and math.

In 2015, some of our most generous friends launched Peninsula Family Service’s Catalyst Fund. Key investors created this initiative with multi-year commitments to form a stable base of funding on which we can scale our efforts and meet growing needs throughout the community.

Donating publicly traded stock may provide better tax benefits than a traditional donation. Your charitable income tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock and you avoid paying capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock. You may also save on brokerage fees because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock.

Please download the Stock Transfer Form form, follow instructions to formalize and execute your charitable gift, and be sure to fax or email the completed information to the contact provided. These steps will inform Peninsula Family Service of the proposed donation and ensure you receive a prompt receipt of your gift for your tax records.

With an in-kind gift, donors can support our organization and the neighbors we serve directly. Career clothing can help an older adult make a strong first impression at an interview; a new book can help a child explore their love of literacy; household goods can be sold at The Family Tree to raise much needed funds to keep our doors open.
