Expanding Egilibility!

After nearly 20 years of partnership with Ways to Work, we are excited to launch our own vehicle loan program, DriveForward. With this new program, we are expanding eligibility to serve more of our community and structuring loans to ensure the program can be successful for decades to come.

In years past, our vehicle loans were available to parents who had been employed for at least three months. With DriveForward, we are opening our program up to everyone in need.

Here’s our requirements, Participants should:

  • Live or work in San Mateo or Santa Clara Counties
  • Qualify as low-to-moderate income (e.g. household income less than $75,000 for a family of three)
  • Have a valid California driver’s license
  • Possess sufficient disposable income to cover loan and vehicle expenses

Peer Counseling

We’ve also taken steps to make DriveForward stable for the long-term, allowing us to offer larger loans (up to $12,000) with an affordable interest rate. Capital for those loans will be provided by our two lending partners, Self-Help Federal Credit Union and United Health Credit Union.

Applications are open and can be filled out online, by phone, or by visiting one of our offices.
