Peninsula Family Service is currently searching for a wonderful college student to fill the big shoes left by last year’s summer intern, Emily. Through this eight week, part-time internship at our main office in San Mateo, students will gain hands-on experience in all the behind-the-scenes aspects of running a nonprofit. Interns will learn about fundraising, marketing, grant writing, and coordinating volunteers. If you–or someone you know–are a self-starter interested in a career in the nonprofit field and passionate about breaking the cycle of poverty, this could be the perfect internship for you!
I really felt like I was making a tangible difference, even just as an intern. Peninsula Family Service placed a huge amount of trust in me to craft my own grant requesting money for musical therapy at Haven Child Development Center. Grant writers must be passionate about the organization’s mission, and working on the project helped me truly understand the importance of Peninsula Family Service. – Emily Sprague, 2015 Nonprofit Management Intern
