Puttin’ on the Ritz!

On April 29th, the Hillsborough Auxiliary to Peninsula Family service held its 53rd Annual Gala. The event took place in The California Golf Club of San Francisco.

A lively crowd in top hats, gowns and evening gloves celebrated the era of art deco, speakeasies, and the “Golden Age of Hollywood.”

During the event, a participant from the Drive Forward program addressed the audience, speaking about the difference it has made in her life. “My income was around 500 dollars a month, and it was very hard to support my children. After participating in the financial literacy training and being able to access an affordable car loan, I was able to apply for a better job and my income increased six times. I can get up and drive at 5 a.m. to get to work. I can afford my rent and groceries and I have regained my confidence. Thank you for all your support. Thank you for helping me change my life”, said Reggie B.

Thank you to everyone who supported this wonderful event raising money for the important programs at Peninsula Family service.

2017 Fund-A-Need

The Fund-A-Need (FAN) this year supports the Financial Empowerment Program at Peninsula Family Service. This program helps to permanently break the cycle of debt and vulnerability through financial workshops, asset and credit-building tools, and alternatives to predatory lenders. The multi-faceted program helps hard-working individuals navigate the extreme costs of living in our region.
