It takes a pencil to write a story, a book to open minds, and a small donation to make a difference.
Many underserved children do not have access to books, and without books to read, literacy suffers, and when literacy suffers, education and opportunities decline. The need is simple: Children need books… and you can make it happen! Starting today, the women of the Foothill Auxiliary to Peninsula Family Service are collecting books for children through November 30.
With your help, our youngest neighbors can build their motivation, curiosity and memory, develop their sensory, speech and cognitive skills, and learn to enjoy and appreciate books at a very early age. We need books in English, Spanish or Portuguese in the following categories:
- Soft Books for Infants
- Picture Books
- Large Story time
- Early Readers
Drop off your donation to Peninsula Family Service at 24 Second Avenue – Monday through Friday. Or visit Kepler’s Books at 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park.
Book gift cards are also gladly accepted.
