Educator and Community Volunteer
Megan is pleased to have been involved with Peninsula Family Service since 2009 when she joined the Hillsborough Auxiliary. She quickly became involved with service projects, chaired the 2014 Thanks for Giving, and co-chaired the 2016 Gala: Black Tie and Boots. Megan served two terms as President of HAPFS in 2016-17 and 2017-2018, each year increasing active and sustaining membership. Megan’s career in education focuses on high need, low-income communities—she began her career running after-school programs in the Bronx, New York, and then taught 4th grade in a Title I school in San Jose, California. Megan received her teaching degree from Santa Clara University and holds a Master’s Degree in Education Policy, Organization and Leadership from Stanford University. The Burkard School in San Mateo—a K-8 school that specializes in developing the social and emotional skills of its students—proudly names Megan as one of its Board Members. Most recently, Megan has focused on volunteer work in the community and within the schools her three children attend.
