Thanks to Our Auxiliaries

Our Auxiliary members do it all! They volunteer, complete service activities, hold fundraising events, and act as ambassadors of Peninsula Family Service (PFS), and have for over 60 years. Our Auxiliaries have also tremendously supported PFS and our annual Fund a-Need, a goal which changes each year to responsively address the most pressing needs of our community.

The Foothill Auxiliary (FAPFS) carried on their tradition of support last fall through the annual Holidays on a High Note, a luncheon that has become a mainstay on the Peninsula, with flower arrangement demonstrations and holiday shopping. Members of the Auxiliary arranged a fun-filled Bingo party at Fair Oaks Adult Activity Center with prizes and give-aways for all. The Auxiliary made the holidays bright, gifting 75 presents to PFS children. The year rounded out with Auxiliary members celebrating our pre-school graduates with backpacks full of supplies for students ready for Kindergarten.

The Hillsborough Auxiliary (HAPFS) started the year by gifting new shoes to 50 children at one of our sites. In the fall, volunteers worked with Tooth Fairies of California to teach the children about oral hygiene and put smiles on faces. HAPFS made the holidays memorable by donating gifts to our children in need. Every other week, one of the members volunteered in a classroom playing with children and supporting the teachers. HAPFS held their lively and fun-filled events, including their annual Thanks For Giving event followed by La Vie est Belle Gala.

The Red-Car-Bel Auxiliary, aka “The Family Tree” shop, was open three days a week all last year. The store, located at 1589 Laurel Street in San Carlos, welcomed in-person shopping, showcasing their top-notch clothing and accessories. The Family Tree also offers a carefully curated selection of treasures via eBay. To shop The Family Tree eBay online, or to schedule a donation drop off, visit www.pfso.org/familytree. All proceeds support PFS.

We are extremely grateful for all the projects and comfort the Auxiliaries have provided over the past year and the activities planned in the coming months.

We appreciate you!
